This policy applies to all users of loudvoicereader-scholar.com and associated mobile or desktop applications. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register.
- Payment information: billing address and the last four digits of your card (full card details are handled by Stripe/PayPal and never stored on our servers).
- Uploaded documents: files you upload for reading or conversion.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team.
- Preferences: language settings, voice selections, and reading configurations.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, reading sessions, and interaction patterns.
- Device information: browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and device identifiers.
- IP address: used for fraud prevention and geographic analytics.
- Log data: server logs, error reports, and performance metrics.
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Cookies section).
Information from Third Parties
- Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal): transaction confirmation and fraud signals.
- Authentication providers: if you sign in via OAuth (Google), we receive your name and email.
- Analytics services: aggregated usage statistics to improve the product.
How We Use Your Information

- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including TTS conversion, AI features, and document management.
- Process payments, prevent fraud, and manage your subscription.

- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.

AI Processing
When you use The Scholar Agent, the text of your document (or selected portions) is sent to an AI model (Google Gemini) for processing. This data is used solely to generate the requested output (summary, translation, quiz, etc.) and is not stored permanently by the AI provider for model training under our enterprise agreement.
Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion.
- Uploaded documents are stored for the duration of your subscription and deleted within 30 days of account closure.
- Payment records are retained for 7 years to comply with financial regulations.
- Usage logs are retained for up to 12 months for security analysis.
- AI interaction transcripts are not permanently retained beyond session processing.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@loudvoicereader-scholar.com. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction: request that we limit how we process your data.
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.

California Residents (CCPA)

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. See our Security page for details. While we take every reasonable precaution, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at support@loudvoicereader-scholar.com and we will delete such information promptly.
International Data Transfers
Our servers and service providers are primarily located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US or other countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
For transfers from the EEA/UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission to ensure adequate protection of your data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or a notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
